Information collected automatically
- Calculator inputs: Values you enter into our compound calculator (starting balance, percentage, periods, etc.) are stored in your browser's URL and local state. This data never leaves your device unless you share the URL ("Share My Vision") with someone else.
- Technical data: Our hosting provider may log standard server request information (IP address, browser type, timestamp, pages visited) for security and abuse prevention. We do not maintain a separate analytics database.
- Cookie consent preference: Your choice to accept or
reject non-essential cookies is stored in
localStorageunder the keytac-consent.

- To monitor and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Site. Google AdSense is provided by Google LLC ("Google"), a third-party vendor that may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
What Google may collect
When AdSense is active (i.e., you have consented to non-essential cookies), Google and its partners may collect the following:
- Your IP address
- Cookie identifiers (e.g.,
__gads,IDE) - Browser and device information
- Pages visited and ad interaction data
- Demographic and interest categories inferred from your browsing
Your choices for Google ads
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices.
- For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland, Google uses consent signals. We only load AdSense scripts after you grant consent via our cookie banner.
For more information about how Google uses data, visit Google's Partner Sites policy and AdSense privacy FAQ.
Cookies & Local Storage
We distinguish between essential and non-essential cookies/storage:
Essential cookies/storage (no consent required)
-
tac-consent— Stores your cookie consent choice (accept/reject). Without this, we'd show the banner on every visit. - Calculator state in URL querystring — Not a cookie; this is part of the URL and only exists if you share it.
Non-essential cookies (consent required)
- Google AdSense cookies:
__gads,IDE,NID, and others set bypagead2.googlesyndication.com. Used for ad serving, frequency capping, and personalization. Only loaded after consent.
See our Cookie Policy for a detailed cookie table.
Data Retention
- Calculator inputs: Stored only in your browser. Clearing your browser data or URL removes them entirely.
- Consent preference: Retained in
localStorageuntil you clear browser data or withdraw consent. - Email correspondence: Retained for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for record-keeping (typically 12 months).
- Server logs: Retained by our hosting provider per their own retention policy (typically 7–30 days).
- Google AdSense data: Retained per Google's retention policy.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google LLC — For ad serving (AdSense). Only when you have consented to non-essential cookies.
- Our hosting provider — For serving the website. They may process server logs for security.
